Rebate up to $1,000 for solar electric system installations based on system size Rebate Amount $0.20 per nominal Direct Current (DC) watt ($200 per kilowatt DC) Maximum rebate: $1,000 If your solar PV system is planned with a DC capacity that exceeds 150% of the inverter AC capacity, a written rational is required. HAT Smart reserves the right to fund only the installed capacity (kW DC) up to 150% of the inverter capacity (kW AC) at HAT Smart's sole discretion. Important Any deviation, whether increase or decrease, from the approved system size (kW DC or kW AC) must be approved by the City and the Utilities Distribution Systems Electric Engineering Department (Electric Engineering). If the installed system size is larger than the approved system size, Electric Engineering may refuse to install the bi-directional meter until the system size is corrected and the rebate will be denied at HAT Smart's discretion. HAT Smart Solar rebate will be processed based on the final approved and installed system size. If the Solar rebate is associated with the Existing Homes Incentive Program, the maximum pay out will be the amount of funds reserved or the $200 per kilowatt DC of the final system installed or the maximum rebate of $1,000, whichever is less.

Canada offers the federal Oil to Heat Pump Affordability (OHPA) program, providing up to $10,000 upfront for low-to-median-income oil-heated homeowners to switch to heat pumps, covering installation, electrical work, and tank removal. Eligibility hinges on income (based on household size) and using oil as your main heat source, with specific co-delivery programs in provinces like BC, NS, PEI, NB, YT, MB, and ON.   What is available through the program Up to $10,000 available for the purchase and installation of eligible heat pump systems, and any of the following associated eligible costs related to the installation, if required: Necessary electrical and mechanical upgrades to your home for new electric heat pump system The safe removal of your oil tank Installation of a supplemental electric heating system (as required) Switching over other oil-using household systems, such as an electric water heater (where necessary) Installation of outdoor piping loops for ground source heat pumps Upfront payment Following the approval of your application, you will receive a cheque. In most cases, this means you will receive your funds in advance of having to pay for any of the related costs. The upfront payment is applicable for homeowners where the program is delivered exclusively by the federal government. The funding can be combined with additional financial assistance from other existing federal, provincial, territorial, and utility programs.
